The Cannons are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization recognized by the IRS. Our IRS status and determination letter are available upon request as our tax records. Every year we have to raise funds to finance the baseball season. While the League is sponsored in part by Major League Baseball, the Cannons portion of that is small. On average the Cannons need to raise over $50,000.00 by January or preceding the season. Some of our largest expenses are $3000+ for baseballs, $2500+ hats, $5000+ Away Uniforms, $7500 Home Uniforms. Playing Field rental and Bus Transportation costs are in the tens of thousands of dollars and funds for all of these must be raised prior to the start of the season.
While we sell concessions, merchandise, and tickets the majority of our revenue is form the kindness of the community. Advertising, Sponsorships and Fundraising are a necessity.
